The Citizens Accelerated With a Smashing Victory

Manchester City showed a wonderful performance against the Champions League winners Real Madrid. Both teams met in a game of the friendly tournament International Champions Cup in Los Angeles, California. The Citizens smashed Los Blancos 4-1, totally outplaying them! That was the second game of the competition for Man City. The Pep Guardiola’s players will take part in one more game of the tournament – after 3 days against Tottenham Hotspur. In the first game, Man City lost to Man United 0-2, but against Real Madrid The Citizens played much better and showed why they are the favourites for winning the Premier League in the upcoming campaign.

The Pep Guardiola’s players created a lot of goal-scoring chances and managed to score 4 of them. The Argentinian defender Nicolas Otamendi opened the score 7 minutes after the break. Then Raheem Sterling showed a great movement and received a pass by Kevin de Bruyne, seeing himself one on one with Real Madrid’s goalkeeper Kiko Casilla and put the ball into the net for 2-0. John Stones increased the score to 3-0 in favour of Man City in the 67th minute. The 17-year-old Spanish talent Brahim Diaz scored the 4th goal for The Citizens. The Zinedine Zidane’s men managed to score once in the last minute of the game. Oscar did it with a great shot from a long distance.

The crucial thing for Man City’s success was the use of Danilo and Kyle Walker on the wings. The full-backs helped the team a lot. The Citizens could even record a more persuasive victory, but Keylor Navas saved a lot of shots during the first half. Kevin de Bruyne also hit the post from a free-kick in the second half.

Guardiola gave a chance to several youngsters. He played the 17-year-old midfielder Philip Foden in the starting XI. Patrick Roberts, who returned to the team after his loan period at Celtic provided the assist for the 4th goal. Roberts is one of the hottest prospects in the world football. I can’t wait to see him playing in The Premier League. The defenders Duhaney and Adarabiyo also took part in the match. However, Brahim Diaz made the biggest impression as he scored a magnificent goal from a long distance.

In conclusion, Man City have a very big squad with a lot of talented players. Josep Guardiola should be happy with the overall performance of the team during the friendly games. It is going to be one very interesting season in The Premier League!
