The FA Cup | 4th Round Preview

Derby County vs. Leicester City

The Foxes are awful when playing away this season! The Claudio Ranieri’s players haven’t won a single away match in The Premier League. On the other hand, they managed to get into the 4th round of The FA Cup after an away victory against Everton. Derby County are on a run of 9 home matches without a defeat! I think that The Rams will eliminate another Premier League side, after beating West Brom in the previous round!

Liverpool vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

The Reds had to take part in the 3rd round replays, to qualify for the next stage of The FA Cup. Lucas Leiva scored his first goal for Liverpool in the last 7 years, securing the victory for The Merseysiders against Plymouth Argyle. To continue with, The Wanderers have always been a tough opponent for Liverpool. The Reds have lost 34 games to The Wolves, while there have been 17 draws and 49 victories for Liverpool. I think this is the time for another unpleasant surprise for Jurgen Klopp.

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Wycombe Wanderers

The Spurs were really lucky with the draw, receiving the chance to host the 4th-tier side Wycombe Wanderers in the 4th round of The Fa Cup. This will be the first ever match between these two teams, but the Mauricio Pochettino’s players are too classy for their opponents! No surprises here!

Oxford United vs. Newcastle United

Oxford United managed to beat a Championship team in the previous round, achieving a 3-2 victory against Rotherham United away from home. This time The U’s will have much more complicated task against the strong Magpies. Newcastle United have the ambition to make a good cup run, which began with 2 games against Birmingham City. I think that the Rafael Benitez’ players can go further!

Lincoln City vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

The 5th-tier club Lincoln City eliminated Ipswich Town in the 3rd round replays, winning 1-0 at home! The Imps will surely win a promotion to The League 2, but they will hardly achieve more than a replay against the strong side Brighton. The Seagulls are lying in the 1st position in The Championship and surely promote to The Premier League. They may play with the reserve players against Lincoln, but I think they will go through!
