Frankie Lampard Jr. was one of the best English midfielders ever! He could play everywhere in midfield, using his great technique and stamina. Lampard was a complete box-to-box midfielder, who could decide every single game for his team. He is also famous for his goal-scoring abilities and good passing skills. Frank Lampard was also good in defence and had a great vision for the game.

To continue with, the Englishman started his professional career in 1995 at West Ham United. But it took him a year, to record his first appearance in a Premier League match. He made his debut on 31st January 1996, coming on as a substitution against Coventry City. Until the end of his first season in professional football, he made only one more appearance on the pitch.

However, Lampard gradually became an integral part of West Ham United’s first team and he scored 39 goals in 187 matches for The Hammers in all competitions. He spent 6 seasons at West Ham United, before being sold to Chelsea in 2001. The Blues paid €17.8 m. for the midfielder. And that is still one of their most successful transfers ever.

Frankie Lampard spent 13 seasons at Stamford Bridge. He managed to score over 200 goals in over 600 matches for The Blues in all competitions. The midfielder lifted The Premier League trophy on 3 occasions (04/05, 05/06 and 09/10). But maybe the biggest success in his club career was the winning of the Champions League in 2012. Lampard also helped Chelsea win The FA Cup 4 times.

The midfielder made his debut for The Three Lions in 1999 in a 2-1 win against Belgium in a friendly match. But after his first match for the national team, he was called up again in 2001. Lampard scored his first international goal in 2003 in a 3-1 victory against Croatia. He took part in 3 World Cup tournaments and The Euro 2004, where he bagged 3 goals in 4 games. Frankie has scored 29 goals in 106 matches for The Three Lions.

After he left Chelsea in 2014, Lampard joined Manchester City and he scored his first goal for The Citizens exactly against his former team. The midfielder finished the campaign with 6 goals in 32 matches for Manchester City. With 177 goals in total in The Premier League for Frank Lampard – he is the fourth best goal-scorer in the league!

He is still playing professionally! Lampard is currently playing for the American side New York City. He is now 38 years old, but he has still what to show. It’s so sad when you realize you will never see such great players competing in the Premier League…
