Manchester United vs. Chelsea | Premier League Preview

Manchester United against Chelsea is one of the classic games in The English Premier League. It looks like Chelsea will win the title and anyone will hardly stop them. If there is any team to do it – it is called Manchester United. The Red Devils have always been successful when playing Chelsea at home, as they have won 38 of 85 matches at Old Trafford against The Blues.

If Manchester United wins the game, the Jose Mourinho’s players will do Tottenham a big favour, as the Spurs are 7 points down from the first place in the standings. Moreover, The Red Devils are trying to find a place in The Top 4, which task also goes through a victory against Chelsea in the next game. Furthermore, the Jose Mourinho’s team is unbeaten in the last 21 league matches! The last time they lost in The Premier League was exactly against Chelsea (0-4 at Stamford Bridge in October 2016).

To continue with, Manchester United have only lost once at home this season! This defeat came in September (more than 7 months ago). David De Gea is expected to return to the starting line-up. He missed the match against Sunderland last week because of a “small problem”. The other United players to miss the derby against Chelsea are Juan Mata, Phil Jones, Wayne Rooney, Chris Smalling and Ashley Young. Antonio Valencia is doubtful and will do a late fitness test. On the other hand, Antonio Conte can be happy that he has no problems with injured players.

At both ends, this match will be decisive for both teams. If Chelsea wins it, The Blues will surely become the new champions of England. Otherwise, Tottenham will still have chance to fight for the title. And if The Red Devils win the 3 points they will have an advantage in the battle for The Top 4.
