The Premier League | 14th round review

Chelsea have become the favourites for winning the Premier League title, after beating away Manchester City 3-1! Antonio Conte’s players played a perfect game in tactics’ aspect! The Italian manager has changed a lot the team since he arrived at Stamford Bridge this season. Even though The Blues were disappointed, conceding a goal in the last minute of the first half, they managed to turn things around and win the match. Now, they have a 3-point lead in the standings. In addition, that was the 8th consecutive victory for Chelsea in Premier League! The task for them won’t be an easy, but they have made a great challenge for the trophy.

Conte is one of the best, maybe the best coach in the world at the moment. The Blues were contenders to win The Premier League from the beginning of the season. Now, maybe more than before. It was a good test for us. It was the first time we faced each other. It’s good to play against him. Pep Guardiola

The most interesting game of the weekend was between Bournemouth and Liverpool. The game seemed to be decided early, as The Reds led by 2-0 in the 22nd minute. However, Bournemouth scored a goal 11 minutes after the break. Then, Emre Can scored a screamer for Jurgen Klopp’s team. And then Bournemouth became unstoppable – with their fast counter-attacks. Ryan Fraser scored his first Premier League goal. The defender Cook equalized in the 78th minute, showing a great goal-scoring instinct in the box! It looked like these two teams will separate the points, but Nathan Ake didn’t think so, as he found the net in the last minute of the added time – 4-3 for the hosts!

Arsenal and Tottenham showed incredible performance. Both teams won easily their games. The Spurs smashed The Swans 5-0! Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen scored two goals each, winning the match for Tottenham. On the other hand, Arsenal were also very impressive against The Hammers. The Gunners bagged 5 goals in West Ham’s net. Alexis Sanchez definitely was the man of the match. The Chilean forward assisted for the first Arsenal’s goal and then scored a hat-trick, taking the ball for himself after the final whistle!

Manchester United were again not persuasive enough. The Red Devils left Goodison Park with only a point, after Marouane Fellaini fouled a Toffees’ player in the box in the last few minutes of the match. Leighton Baines converted the penalty into a goal and secured the point for Everton.

Getting draws but deserving the victory, opponents leaving the stadium super happy with the point that they didn’t deserve and us leaving the stadium with the feeling that we deserved more and we didn’t get. That’s how I’m feeling. Jose Mourinho

To continue with, the champions Leicester City continued to fall down in the tables. This time The Foxes lost to Sunderland 1-2 at The Stadium of Light. No wonders if they are involved in the relegation battle in the end of the season!

In conclusion, we have to say 6 of the 9 games during the weekend finished with a victory for the hosts! We also saw 36 goals in 9 matches, which was an extremely high number! So, we can only expect more goals in tonight’s match between Middlesbrough and Hull City. Moreover, both teams are desperate to win the three points!
