The Premier League | 31st Round Preview | Part I
Burnley vs. Stoke City
The Potters lost twice in a row in The Premier League (to Chelsea and Leicester City). Now, they are to visit The Clarets, who are the 6th-best hosts in the league. Burnley couldn’t take anything from their last game against Tottenham at Turf Moor, but showed a good performance against the Mauricio Pochettino’s players.
Stoke City always struggle when visiting Burnley. The Potters have won 6 of 29 away games against The Clarets. In addition, the Sean Dyche’s players have won 13 of these matches. The last time Stoke City won against Burnley away from home was in 2007. Since then, there have been 3 consecutive draws (0-0 twice and 1-1 once).
The Prediction: A draw (3.20)
Leicester City vs. Sunderland
Sunderland again couldn’t record a positive result, as The Black Cats lost their visit to Watford 0-1 in the previous round of The Premier League. Britos scored the only goal of the match in the 59th minute after a corner kick. Now, the David Moyes’ players are lying in the last place, 8 points behind the 17th-placed Swansea City. With 9 games left for Sunderland until the end of the season, it will be extremely difficult for them to avoid relegation.
Moreover, the visit to Leicester City will be a nightmare for Sunderland, because The Foxes have been in an incredible form. Since Craig Shakespeare has been appointed, Leicester City have recorded 5 consecutive victories, including the historical victory against Sevilla in The Champions League. The Foxes will try to keep their positive attitude with a victory against Sunderland, because they will have to play Atletico Madrid a week later.
The Prediction: Leicester to win the game (1.50)
Watford vs. West Bromwich Albion
The Baggies won 4 points in their previous two matches in The Premier League against two of the British giants. West Brom won 3-1 against Arsenal at The Hawthorns and then finished with a 0-0 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Furthermore, Watford have difficulties when meet West Brom. The Hornets have won 4 of the 14 matches between these two teams at Vicarage Road. The Tony Pulis’ players have recorded 6 away victories against Watford.
The Prediction: A draw (3.20)
Manchester United vs. Everton
It’s always interesting when Manchester United play Everton. The Red Devils are unbeaten in their last 19 Premier League matches! However, they are still outside the Top 4. Man United are 5 points behind 4th-placed Manchester City and the Jose Mourinho’s players must win against Everton to boost their chance for a participation in The Champions League.
On the other hand, The Toffees have only lost twice in their last 10 league games. However, the Ronald Koeman’s players have lost 50 of 87 visits to Old Trafford and that’s not only about the luck. So, I don’t expect them to win the game…
The Prediction: Man United to win the game (1.57)
