The Premier League | 10th round preview

After the first 9 rounds of The English Premier League, surprisingly the only unbeaten team is Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs have recorded 5 victories and 4 draws, collecting 19 points. However, they are a point down from the first place, which is shared by the teams of Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool. Furthermore, Chelsea have also won 19 points since the beginning of the season. So, you can easily see how competitive The Premier League is.

To continue with, Spurs will take part in the most interesting game of the round – against the champions Leicester City. The Foxes have been impressive in the Champions League, winning all their 3 matches so far. Moreover, Claudio Ranieri’s players recorded a wonderful 3-1 victory against Crystal Palace in the previous round and they have taken the 11th place in the standings, with 11 points.

Arsenal are going to visit the last team in the standings – Sunderland. The Black Cats again struggled in their first 9 matches of the season, but this time they have only recorded 2 draws and 7 defeats, without winning any of their matches. So, David Moyes must improve a lot if he wants to keep his job until Christmas. But, the task will be extremely difficult, because The Black Cats have won for the last time against Arsenal in a league match in 2009.

Jose Mourinho desperately needs 3 points in Man United’s next match against the outsiders Burnley, but be sure that it won’t be an easy task, because The Clarets are in a great form, winning 2 of their last 4 Premier League matches. Burnley have collected 10 points in the first 9 matches this season, which is not a bad result for a newly promoted team.

Hull City are on a run of 5 consecutive defeats in The Premier League. The Tigers are considered as one of the biggest underdogs in the league this season and they must do incredible things if they want to stay in The Premiership. Now, they are going to visit Watford, but they will hardly take anything from their visit to Vicarage Road.

After the 4-0 victory against Manchester United, Chelsea will have even more difficult match – a visit to the St. Mary’s Stadium. The Saints have been in an incredible form. The last time they lost in The Premier League was on 10th September (1-2 to Arsenal). Since then, they have recorded 3 victories and 2 draws (a draw against Man City away from home).

Middlesbrough will look for their first victory since August, when they beat Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. However, The Boro are not that bad, as they managed to win a point against Arsenal in the previous round. The main mission for Middlesbrough is avoiding relegation, which can be achieved, but the team must start winning matches. They can start from their next – against The Cherries.

West Ham are to visit Everton on Sunday. Dimitri Payet has shown he is too good for this team and I expect The Hammers to sell him very soon. However, Payet can inspire his teammates for another victory against The Toffees, who are in a bad form.
