The Premiership | Round 24 Review
Chelsea recorded another victory in The Premier League. This time The Blues won the match against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, sending a huge request for the title. With 14 rounds to go, the Antonio Conte’s players will hardly miss the opportunity to lift the trophy!
Marcos Alonso opened the score in the 13th minute. That was the Spaniard’s 4th goal of the season. Eden Hazard doubled the score in the 53rd minute after a great individual technique, passing through all the Arsenal’s half and finding the net with a precise shot. Cesc Fabregas scored the third goal for Chelsea 5 minutes before the end of the game. Olivier Giroud scored for Arsenal in the last minute, but that was not enough for The Gunners.
Another game we have to pay attention to is Crystal Palace against Sunderland. The Black Cats won 4-0, but the most impressive thing is that they found the net on 4 occasions in just the first 45 minutes – I can’t remember they’ve done such a thing recently! Is that the start of another great escape for Sunderland?
To continue with, The Toffees recorded another home victory in The Premier League. Everton beat Bournemouth 6-3 at Goodison Park. The big hero was Romelu Lukaku, who was unstoppable and scored 4 goals!
Hull City shocked Liverpool at The KCOM Stadium. The Tigers won 2-0, proving they are in an incredible form. Ranocchia, Grosicki and Niasse showed they have adjusted to Hull City’s style, helping the team win the 3 points. On the other hand, that was another disappointing result for The Reds, who have have lost 4 of their last 5 competitive matches.
Gabriel Jesus scored twice for Manchester City, to secure the victory for The Citizens against Swansea City. The Pep Guardiola’s players are now lying in the 3rd place, 10 points behind the leaders Chelsea. However, The Citizens must keep going if they want to fight for the title – they can’t afford dropping points!
From a team, which won the title last season, Leicester City turned again to a team, which must fight for their place in The Premier League. The Foxes lost this time to Manchester United, which was their 4th consecutive defeat in the league. Claudio Ranieri must do something to motivate his players, otherwise he is risking to see Leicester in The Championship at the end of the campaign.
In conclusion, let’s see the other results in The Premier League from the last round: Southampton 1-3 West Ham United; Watford 2-1 Burnley; West Bromwich Albion 1-0 Stoke City; Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Middlesbrough.
