Romelu Lukaku Leaves Everton

The 24-year-old striker Romelu Lukaku is going to leave Everton. He spent 4 seasons with The Toffees and scored 68 league goals for the club. Lukaku became the second best goal-scorer in The Premier League last season with 25 goals.

The Belgian international forward had lots of offers after his magnificent performance in attack. At one stage Chelsea looked as the favourite for his signature, but Lukaku has preferred to move to Manchester United. The deal will worth about £75 m. As you know, Lukaku used to play for Chelsea several years ago, but he couldn’t fight for his place in the first team. The Belgian managed only to appear on 15 occasions with the Blues’ colours.

A few months ago Lukaku said that he doesn’t want to stay at the same level. In March, he signed the most expensive contract in Everton’s history, earning £140 K per week.

Romelu Lukaku will become the second summer signing for Man United after the arrival of the defender Victor Lindelof. The Red Devils paid £31 m. to Benfica for the Swedish international player. There were lots of rumours that Jose Mourinho is going to sign Alvaro Morata of Real Madrid, but eventually he has chosen Romelu Lukaku for the deputy of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was released by the club in the end of June.

The Belgian forward is considered as the hottest prospect in The Premier League. Since season 2012/13 he has inevitably scored at least 10 goals in the league. Lukaku has won 57 caps for Belgium and has scored 20 goals for his nation. The forward took part in The World Cup 2014 and The European Championship 2016. He is now experienced enough and will be of a big value for his new team.

I want to thank all the people at Everton! I also want to thank the fans of the team who supported me during the 4 years we have spent together. It was a honour to me to play in front of you. I felt like home at Everton and I have to thank to all the staff members and my teammates. I will take all the advices you gave me. Thank you Everton FC! Romelu Lukaku
