Tonight’s matches preview
Middlesbrough vs. Liverpool
The Merseysiders couldn’t record a victory in the previous 2 rounds of The Premier League, losing to Bournemouth 3-4 and finishing with a draw against West Ham 2-2. Now, the Jurgen Klopp’s players are obligated to win their visit to the Riverside Stadium. Otherwise, they will roll away from the dreamed title. However, Middlesbrough aren’t among the strongest hosts in the division. The Boro have only won 2 of their 7 home games, but they are good enough in defence, having conceded 7 goals in these matches.
The last time The Reds won at the Riverside Stadium was 12 years ago! 3 of the last 5 meetings between these two teams at this stadium have finished with the score of 0-0. 4 of them have ended with a draw! Moreover, Philippe Coutinho is still injured and he won’t be included in Liverpool’s group for the game. On the other hand, Gaston Ramirez and Alvaro Negredo (the Spaniard will have a fitness test before the match), who are key Middlesbrough’s players will be sidelined due to injuries. I strongly believe, Liverpool will finally record a victory, no matter how difficult it will be!
Sunderland vs. Chelsea
The last team in the standings against the leaders. There are a lot of examples in The Premier League, in which the weakest team beats the strongest one! Actually, I don’t think The Black Cats are that bad. In fact, they have won 3 of their last 5 league matches. However, their task against Chelsea will be extremely difficult, because The Blues are the team in the best shape in the division. Antonio Conte’s players have won 9 consecutive league matches! They have kept a clean sheet on 8 occasions.
To continue with, Sunderland have won 2 and have finished with a draw once in the last matches against Chelsea at the Stadium of Light! Their latest victory against The Blues (3-2) was a part of their great escape in the last season. It’s always difficult to support the underdogs, but I think The Black Cats have their chance to take something from the match – 1X (double chance).
West Ham United vs. Burnley
It’s high time West Ham United record a victory in The Premier League! The Hammers showed a wonderful performance in the previous round, finishing with a 2-2 draw against Liverpool at Anfield. Now, they are the favourites against the weakest visitors in the division. Burnley (alongside with Leicester City) have only won 1 point from their visits in The Premier League!
The stats are totally in West Ham United’s favour! The Hammers have won 20 of 29 home matches against The Clarets! I think there is a logic in football, so logically, The Hammers will surely win the match!
Crystal Palace vs. Manchester United
The man in-form for Manchester United – Mkhitaryan is going to miss the match due to an ankle injury. However, Jose Mourinho’s players are in a pretty good form. They are on a run of 8 consecutive games in all competitions without a defeat. They won 5 of these matches. In addition, The Red Devils are only 6 points down from the 4th place and they will be very motivated to record another victory against Crystal Palace.
Furthermore, The Eagles are extremely weak in defence! They have conceded 20 goals in their last 7 league games! On the other hand, Crystal Palace are scoring lots of goals. The most logical outcome would be “over 2,5 goals”!
West Bromwich Albion vs. Swansea City
The Baggies have only lost twice at home this season, while The Swans have recorded 5 defeats in 7 away Premier League games. Moreover, Swansea City couldn’t hit the target once in their previous visit against Tottenham, being totally smashed by The Spurs.
However, the game is one of the most unpredictable, because there have been a Head to Head record of 3-2-3, when the match is held at The Hawthorns. You can try betting on corners in the game. There are 9.20 corners on average in WBA’s matches, while the corners in Swansea’s games are 10 on average. I believe the option “over 8,5 corners in the game” sounds really good!
Manchester City vs. Watford
The last time Manchester City won at home in The Premier League was 3 months ago! In addition, Pep Guardiola’s players are in very bad form. Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho will again be sidelined, because of the red cards they received against Chelsea. However, The Hornets have only won 2 away games this season, and I believe they won’t be given any chance of achieving another one against The Citizens, who desperately need the three points!
Manchester City have won 5 of the 8 home matches against Watford! The Citizens have won 4 consecutive games against The Hornets! Be sure that City will win the game easily, no matter Aguero won’t take part in the match!
Stoke City vs. Southampton
These two teams are “neighbors” in the standings of The Premier League and I expect that the game between them will be extremely equivalent. The hosts have tons of problems with injured players: Afellay, Bardsley, Butland, Cameron, Ireland, Johnson, Joselu, Muniesa, Shawcross, Walters and Wollscheid are suffering from different injuries and will probably be sidelined. This could help The Saints a lot, because they have much less problems with injuries!
The record between these two teams at The Britannia Stadium is 9-6-7! That’s another proof for the statement that the match is difficult to be predicted, but I think Southampton have the better chance to take the 3 points!
Tottenham Hotspur vs. Hull City
The Spurs are obligated to record a victory against the outsiders Hull, if The Spurs want to stay close to the top! The Tigers are one of the easiest opponents for Tottenham, as The Spurs have won 7 of 10 games against Hull City! So, no place for any surprises here. Tottenham Hotspur will smash Hull City, just like The Spurs did against Swansea City. Moreover, The Tigers have only won once in their 7 visits from the beginning of the campaign!
