The Young Germans Triumphed In Russia
Germany beat Chile 1-0 in the final match of the Confederations Cup and lifted the trophy for the first time in the history of the tournament. Die Mannschaft triumphed abosulety deservedly after showing a constantly good performance in the competition. Even though most of the players in the team were inexperienced, they showed they deserve their place in the team for the future!
The Chileans were very motivated from the very beginning of the match, creating 11 good goal-scoring chances just within the first 20 minutes of the match, but they couldn’t find the net. Instead of this, Marcelo Diaz made a crucial error in his own penalty area and Timo Werner took the ball and passed it to Stindl, who had no problems to find the net from a close rang on open goal.
The Juan Antonio Pizzi’s players gave their best until the end of the match, but they couldn’t equalize, even though they had several good chances until the end of the game. With 5 minutes to go, the substitution Angelo Sagal missed the best opportunity for Chile, missing the target from several metres on open goal.
To continue with, The Joachim Loew’s young players didn’t lose a single match of the competition, recording 4 victories and a draw. They started with a difficult 3-2 win against Australia. However, then they finished with a 1-1 draw against Chile in group B and won their third game of the group stage 3-1 against Cameroon. Die Mannschaft had no problems to smash Mexico 4-1 in the semi-final game. Then, the Germans beat Chile in the final 1-0 and lifted the trophy.
A lot of players from the team showed they deserve to continue their senior international career. Julian Draxler was the most experienced of the whole German team. He eventually won the Golden Ball, being selected for the best player of the tournament. Timo Werner won the Golden Boot for the top goal-scorer of the Confederations Cup. He scored 3 goals. His teammates Goretzka and Stindl also bagged 3 goals, but Werner also made two assists and that’s why the individual prize was for him.
Marc-Andre ter Steggen showed he is classy enough to fight with Manuel Neuer for a place in Germany’s starting XI. Among the best players in the squad of Germany were Sebastian Rudy, Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Lars Stindl.
In conclusion, we must say there is a bright future in front of the Germany’s national football team. Joachim Loew can be happy he has a wide variety of quality players and the absence of all his most experienced players cannot affect the team’s overall performance! I can’t wait to see this team at the Wolrd Cup 2018.
